Welcome to Speak For Me (SFM) 

SFM Speak for Me is a  training service for professionals and children  in Wales. We work with local authorities and other professionals in Health, Education, Social Services, Youth Justice, police, Youth Offending Teams, Advocacy Providers, elected members,  third sector and others. We provide services in Cardiff, Swansea, Neath,Llanelli, Merthyr, Port Talbot, Powys, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, Monmouthshire, Newport, Bridgend and Torfaen.

Our services:


    For Adults and Professionals, we offer training and policy support in:

    • Organisation safeguarding policy advice and support,
    • child protection and safeguarding training , Level 1 and 2 
    • Role of the Designated Person
    • advocacy
    • ethical searching and managing conflict

    Our other vocational  training modules  include  emergency first aid at work QCF

    Our Ethos

    At SFM, children and young people in Wales are at the heart of all of our work.  Our practice and starting point is always child centred, ethical  and  based on the rights of the child or young person.

    Individual casework -  Advice and Support

    Please note. We do not provide individual advice and support to children and young people. Children and young people and adults who are speaking on a child's behalf can obtain advice and support  directly from the Children's Commissioner for Wales Advice and Support Service on 0808 801 1000 or via advice@childcomwales.org.uk   This is a free  and confidential service, open between 9am and 5pm and telephone calls to the freephone number above will not show up on bills.

    Child at risk of harm

    If you have concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child or young person, please call your local social services / childrens services duty team straight away. Your main council/local authority switchboard number will be able to put you straight through to them. Ask for children's services duty team. If there is a child at risk of  imminent danger you can also call 999 or the NSPCC on 0808 8005000.

    If you are not sure who to call, you can also call the  Children's Commissioner for Wales Advice and Support Service (see above) on 0808 801 1000 and they will be able to provide you with  direct advice and support.
